Seven teams likely still stand in the College Football Playoff hunt after last Saturday’s dramatic events. And the selection committee has a new top-25 ranking to digest just in time for Thanksgiving. As Tennessee and North Carolina bow out of the race, the hunt is on for seven teams.
The rest of the top teams got varying levels of fight from their Week 12 opponents. Georgia held on for a win over Kentucky. Ohio State needed a defensive score to close out the feisty Maryland Terrapins. Michigan and TCU both needed field goals to survive upset scares and then USC took out rival UCLA in a shootout.
Many eyes fall upon the SEC and Big Ten this week as both leagues have a shot at two bids. Ohio State and Michigan go to their usual war while LSU is still in the hunt in the SEC.
